Google needs to get hit with a Shillelagh

No Google Logo in 2011?

So St. Patrick’s Day came and went for 2011 and Google.com neglected to recognize the day. Usually they post one of their “updated for the day logos” on their home page, but not today. Sure they posted one on their Ireland website (google.ie); But what about here in the US? Read more »

Add as friend -or- Like?

In case you have been watching my doings over the past couple of days you have probably noticed that I created a ‘Fan Page’ no wait a ‘Like Page‘ for my public persona. Wow! You might think, who the heck am I that I think I can create a ‘Like Page’ for myself. I am not some famous author, big public speaker, singer/song writer or even a Doctor turned Tv Celebrity… You are most certainly correct! I am none of the above… So what makes me think that I can create a public ‘Like Page‘ and people will actually come? Read more »

Yahoo I won!

Image by: Stumptown Doug So you are probably asking yourself, What the heck does Sunday Brunch have to do with the title of this post? Well it all started when my friend Danny Brown asked his blog readers to think of a name for a new weekly blog series that would appear on a Sunday. On his post he stated: Originally I was going to call it Sunday School, since it’ll be posted on a Sunday and it will have an educational slant (yeah, I know, not very original). But then I was thinking some folks might think it’s a [...] Read more »

Are we giving our children too much freedom?

Texting

How do we know when enough is enough, or too much when it comes to our children? Being a single Dad of two children one 11 and one 14 it is hard for me to find the balance of giving them their freedom but also keeping tabs on them as well. Both of my children now have cell phones. This is a necessity because of various activities they have along with my crazy schedule, I need to be able to get in touch with them. Also since they live with me, they need a way to stay in touch with [...] Read more »

Michael & Sky – She really was his dog… She loved him the most out of all of us… He even took her swimming with him in the pool… Sky you will be missed… We all love you very much and will miss you dearly… “The Rainbow Bridge” Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, [...] Read more »

Happy 100th Birthday Gramps (R.I.P.)

Happy Birthday Gramps (In Heaven) In Loving Memory George  Valentine Warnett February 14, 1910 – November 18, 2002 Today would have been my grandfathers 100th birthday if he was still with us here on earth. I miss him and think of him almost everyday. I have been reminded of him a lot lately as I have been doing work for Friends of Van Cortlandt Park. There were many days that I spent in Van Cortlandt Park picking berries, getting spring water or collecting birch branches with my grandfather. I hope you and Nana are once again happy together in a [...] Read more »

How to import your blog feed into Facebook

There are several ways of doing this, but I am going to show you how to do it using the tools Facebook offers directly. If anyone uses a service to do this like TwitterFeed or something similar, feel free to post in the comments below and let me know your feelings about their service. I for one don’t like to rely on third party services unless it is absolutely necessary. To start, you must first have a blog, it could be self hosted on your own domain name or it could be on Blogger.com or WordPress.com. It doesn’t really matter [...] Read more »

And so it begins – Simplify my online presence.

Since I said I wanted to start simplifying my life, I figured I would tackle the easiest things first. I am limiting my online presence to only a handful of social networks, one instant message network and reducing my email accounts as well. Read more »
