Happy Birthday my dear Alicia

First Day of 1st Grade

Today is a very special day, not only because it is your birthday but because it is the day I first saw a true angel. It seems like it was only yesterday that you came into my life. A precious little bundle of joy. I was even scared to hold you at first. But now look at you! You have grown into a beautiful young woman who makes me proud daily to call you my Daughter. I know life is not easy at times and we have gone through our struggles, but we have made it through them all and [...] Read more »

R.I.P. “Sky Girl”

Michael & Sky – She really was his dog… She loved him the most out of all of us… He even took her swimming with him in the pool… Sky you will be missed… We all love you very much and will miss you dearly… “The Rainbow Bridge” Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. Happy 100th Birthday Gramps (R.I.P.)

Happy Birthday Gramps (In Heaven) In Loving Memory George  Valentine Warnett February 14, 1910 – November 18, 2002 Today would have been my grandfathers 100th birthday if he was still with us here on earth. I miss him and think of him almost everyday. I have been reminded of him a lot lately as I have been doing work for Friends of Van Cortlandt Park. There were many days that I spent in Van Cortlandt Park picking berries, getting spring water or collecting birch branches with my grandfather. I hope you and Nana are once again happy together in a [...] Read more »

Michael’s Big Show

Today I attended a show that was put on by the after school program my son attends. It was a nice show from all the grades that attend the program, he had to perform a dance with a partner. I think he did quite well, but then again I am very biased.   Read more »

2nd Place Champions

Tonight was the final championship game for my Daughters basketball team. They have made it all the way to the final championship game for the regional division. We all had our fingers and toes crossed that they would take home the championship trophy! The team put up a great fight but in the end they were defeated. The team has won 2nd place regional champion! I think the whole team deserves a huge round of applause, they have worked very hard all year and really showed their team spirit to get to this point. Congratulations Visitation for winning the 2nd [...] Read more »

Pizza Party…

Let me start by telling you that I didn’t expect to be supplying pizza to 20 3rd graders. It all started when my son came home with some disappointing math grades, I tried everything to get him to bring his grades up but nothing seemed to be working. We studied, did flash cards, I even bought math books from Staples. I decided to try a little bribery… I told him if he could get two 100% grades on his tests in any major subject I would buy his whole class a pizza party. I knew he could do it if [...] Read more »

ASPCA doesn’t respond?

*** UPDATE at 12:40PM *** ASPCA finally showed up. They quickly told me it is not against the law to leave a dog in a car for hours at a time even in 18 degree weather. They looked at the dog and said it is in good health and not mistreated. They also told me NOT to call them again about this as they are very busy! ————– Why is it that I cannot get a response from the ASPCA in regards to a complaint I filed 2 days ago? I reported a complaint via email and then with two [...] Read more »
