Michael’s Big Show

Today I attended a show that was put on by the after school program my son attends. It was a nice show from all the grades that attend the program, he had to perform a dance with a partner. I think he did quite well, but then again I am very biased.   Read more »

Pizza Party…

Let me start by telling you that I didn’t expect to be supplying pizza to 20 3rd graders. It all started when my son came home with some disappointing math grades, I tried everything to get him to bring his grades up but nothing seemed to be working. We studied, did flash cards, I even bought math books from Staples. I decided to try a little bribery… I told him if he could get two 100% grades on his tests in any major subject I would buy his whole class a pizza party. I knew he could do it if [...] Read more »

Basically it is the piece of land between the curb and your sidewalk that the city usually plants a tree in. Well many years ago the tree that was there forever died and was taken down. The city never replaced the tree so I took it upon myself to do it with many different trees that could not stand up to the harsh winters and the salt the city throws on the streets. [...] Read more »

How do you do nature?

Nature at it finest :) And a little bike riding for me… I must say that we had a great day and alot of fun in Van Cortlandt Park. When you are out there climbing rocks and hiking in the woods you feel as though you are a million miles away from the urban community that you are right smack in the center of. :) Phil Read more »

Toothfairy where are you?

Well today my sons second tooth fell out. I am still amazed since he is 7 years old and has only lost 2 teeth. My daughter lost a handfull of teeth by the time she was 6. I know this is not a big deal because everyone is different and grows at different stages. It is just very interesting to me to see the differences between two siblings. Anyway I hope the toothfairy comes and brings Michael some cold hard cash. :) Phil March 26th, 2006: Just as a followup, the toothfairy came and left $5.00! Whoot! :) Phil Read more »
