If you remember from last years post when I exclaimed that I finally thought about sports as being fun because my Daughter had joined her schools basketball team. Well they are back in action as the season just started. We had not one but two games today and both were extremely edge of the seat exciting. We won the first and lost the second but it was basket for basket all the way through the game. I don’t know what it is that makes it so exciting, perhaps it is that my Daughter is playing on the team or because [...] Read more »

I miss you Nana!
Today is my Grand Mothers (Nana) Birthday unfortunately she had passed on so I cannot call her and tell her how much I love her. She had passed on in 2005 and the time has not taken away my pain. She was not only a Grand Mother but a Mother and a friend. My Nana raised me while both of my parents held full time jobs. This is why it is so painful to me that I lost her. Nana, I know you are in a better place looking down on me and hope you and Gramps are with each [...] Read more »

What is wrong with people?!?!
What kind of society do we live in? How can someone tie a dog to a tree, douse it with gasoline and then light it on fire? “Just a Dog”
From time to time, people tell me, “lighten up, it’s just a dog,” or, “that’s a lot of money for just a dog.” They don’t understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for “just a dog.” Some of my proudest moments have come about with “just a dog.” Many hours have passed and my only company was “just a dog,” but I did not once feel slighted. Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by “just a dog,” and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of “just a [...] Read more »
