Happy New Year
Happy New Year!!! 2010 is here and I hope it will be a great year. Looking forward to the new year, I am going to apply several concepts and ideas. FDA possibly killing asthmatics?
UPDATE 1/26/2009 - Visit: iPetitions.com, savecfcinhalers.org - – - – - – - – - - In case you didn’t know as of December 31, 2008 you can no longer buy any prescription inhalers that use CFCs to eject the medicine. The FDA is also expected to phase out the over the counter (OTC) asthma medicine that uses CFC’s as well. What does this mean? No more rescue inhalers will be sold over the counter like Primatene Mist unless they change their ejection method to not use CFCs. What the heck? Tentative Agreement at Verizon
Since last week Verizon workers have been working without a contract, the union and the company have both been at the bargaining table and stopped the clock on the contract expiration date. Well today (Sunday) according to our local website www.cwa1101.org, Verizon and CWA have reached an agreement. If you look back at my post from last weeks deadline you will see that my prediction was pretty close, all except for the 5 year agreement, Verizon only agreed on a 3 year contract. No strike yet…
As I suspected there is no strike as of yet against Verizon. If you have followed my blog you know I work for Verizon and our contract expired August 2, 2008. Everyone at work said that we were going on strike and it could be a long one, etc. I was the only one who kept saying that it would seem unlikely that Verizon would want to put us on the street. 20 years already?
Today February 1, 2008 is my 20th anniversary with my employer. I can hardly believe it has been 20 years since I started working for Verizon. I have been through 4 company name changes since I started, New York Telephone, Nynex, Bell Atlantic and now Verizon. I was going to write a rant about not being appreciated for my 20 years of service, but then I thought what is the point. New Year, New Me…
Well not really a new me… As you know I have been working on me for the last several months and I have to say I actually made it through the holidays without adding pounds. I am still at 195lbs and feeling good about it. If you remember I started at 224lbs and worked my way down here and here. Well now I am trying to be a non-procrastinator… Is it possible? Back to school…
It’s not like I don’t have enough to do in my life right now, I decided to take an online college course. Since my job pays for the tuition I figured why not expand my knowledge. Also since I am such a geek I figured this would fit in just fine with my existing knowledge. I hope to pass the course and add it to the list of services I currently offer my clients.
