Today I attended a show that was put on by the after school program my son attends. It was a nice show from all the grades that attend the program, he had to perform a dance with a partner. I think he did quite well, but then again I am very biased. Read more »
2nd Place Champions
Tonight was the final championship game for my Daughters basketball team. They have made it all the way to the final championship game for the regional division. We all had our fingers and toes crossed that they would take home the championship trophy! The team put up a great fight but in the end they were defeated. The team has won 2nd place regional champion! I think the whole team deserves a huge round of applause, they have worked very hard all year and really showed their team spirit to get to this point. Congratulations Visitation for winning the 2nd [...] Read more »
Pizza Party…
Let me start by telling you that I didn’t expect to be supplying pizza to 20 3rd graders. It all started when my son came home with some disappointing math grades, I tried everything to get him to bring his grades up but nothing seemed to be working. We studied, did flash cards, I even bought math books from Staples. I decided to try a little bribery… I told him if he could get two 100% grades on his tests in any major subject I would buy his whole class a pizza party. I knew he could do it if [...] Read more »
Science & Popcorn
Who would ever have thought that Science and Popcorn could go together? Or they could be so much fun (at least eating the popcorn was fun). My Daughter had to do a science project for school so instead of the usual “potato makes electricity” we decided to do something more fun. How does temperature affect popcorn? We took 3 bags of microwave popcorn and froze one, refrigerated one, and left one out at room temperature for 24 hours. We then microwaved each bag to see how long they took to finish popping and if there was any difference in quality [...] Read more »
Back to school…
It’s not like I don’t have enough to do in my life right now, I decided to take an online college course. Since my job pays for the tuition I figured why not expand my knowledge. Also since I am such a geek I figured this would fit in just fine with my existing knowledge. I hope to pass the course and add it to the list of services I currently offer my clients. For those of you who don’t know what Computer Forensics is, a definition from the book: “Computer forensics is the investigation and analysis techniques that involve [...] Read more »
Basketball season is now on!
If you remember from last years post when I exclaimed that I finally thought about sports as being fun because my Daughter had joined her schools basketball team. Well they are back in action as the season just started. We had not one but two games today and both were extremely edge of the seat exciting. We won the first and lost the second but it was basket for basket all the way through the game. I don’t know what it is that makes it so exciting, perhaps it is that my Daughter is playing on the team or because [...] Read more »
Basketball = Fun?
First let me just say that I am not anywhere near a sports fan. I don’t watch sports on tv, I rarely go to any sporting events unless someone gives me tickets and I feel I have to go then. I am more of the geeky type that would rather code php on my laptop then attend a baseball game in Yankee Stadium. Anyway my feelings towards sports has changed a bit since my Daughter has joined the Basketball team at her school. They have only played Two games so far, but I have attended both and all I can [...] Read more »
