Pizza Party…

Let me start by telling you that I didn’t expect to be supplying pizza to 20 3rd graders. It all started when my son came home with some disappointing math grades, I tried everything to get him to bring his grades up but nothing seemed to be working. We studied, did flash cards, I even bought math books from Staples. I decided to try a little bribery… I told him if he could get two 100% grades on his tests in any major subject I would buy his whole class a pizza party. I knew he could do it if [...] Read more »

ASPCA doesn’t respond?

*** UPDATE at 12:40PM *** ASPCA finally showed up. They quickly told me it is not against the law to leave a dog in a car for hours at a time even in 18 degree weather. They looked at the dog and said it is in good health and not mistreated. They also told me NOT to call them again about this as they are very busy! ————– Why is it that I cannot get a response from the ASPCA in regards to a complaint I filed 2 days ago? I reported a complaint via email and then with two [...] Read more »

My lunar eclipse

With tonight being the last time a total lunar eclipse happens until 2010 I decided to take my cheap point and shoot camera outside and take some shots. The annoying language bar in Windows XP

After installing Microsoft Office I noticed an annoying little button bar on my Windows task bar at the bottom of my screen. It is called the Language Bar and looks like this:   I can’t stand how it gets in the way of my task bar and hogs space. I don’t need it, I only use one language so it is not necessary for me. If you too have this bar and are annoyed by it and want it gone, please follow along with me and I will show you how to eradicate it once and for all. Steps to [...] Read more »

Domain Name Renewal Scams

It has been brought to my attention today that a domain name renewal scam is currently making the rounds. This scam is not new, but domain owners continue to fall victim to this practice on a daily basis. I just wanted to make you aware of how the scam works so that you can protect yourself from losing domain registrations to these companies. The scam works this way: unethical companies monitor the publicly accessible WHOIS database and obtain registrant contact information as well as domain expiry dates. Using this information, they then mail domain registrants an official looking document, months [...] Read more »

Science & Popcorn

Who would ever have thought that Science and Popcorn could go together? Or they could be so much fun (at least eating the popcorn was fun). My Daughter had to do a science project for school so instead of the usual “potato makes electricity” we decided to do something more fun. How does temperature affect popcorn? We took 3 bags of microwave popcorn and froze one, refrigerated one, and left one out at room temperature for 24 hours. We then microwaved each bag to see how long they took to finish popping and if there was any difference in quality [...] Read more »
